Thrush Symptoms : Male Thrush
Male thrush effects more sufferers than you would think. There are sevewral different thrush symptoms, and it is a good idea to recognise them early so they can be treated before the infection gets bad.Male thrush is caused by the candida albicans yeast, a single cell organism that occurs naturally on the skin. From time to time, these yeast cells may become a problem as their population increases. An infection may be spread to a sexual partner through intercourse. The infection is not related to herpes.
The first thrush symptoms you will become aware of are intense burning, irritation and itching. While less common in male thrush, this is sometimes accompanied by a greyish white discharge with a distinctly yeasty smell, similar to beer.
Other thrush symptoms include the head of the penis developing sore patches, a rash or sores that are red and scratcy. Commonly, men experience a burning sensation inside the penis before there is any visible sign of the infection. Cloudy urine can also be an indication that an infection is present.
Usually, antibiotics are prescribed for male thrush, especially when the thrush symptoms are not very serious. However, when the condition is serious enough to require hospitalization, it is normal to administer intraveinous treatment.
The problem is that the yeast infection can become drug resistant, so the drug treatments are more of a temporary treatment and can stop working over time.
That is why many people are turning to effective natural remedies, ranging from white vinegar to yoghurt, honey, special foods, and many others, with varying degrees of success.
Some treatments merely offer relief from itching, or a reduction of other thrush symptoms, while others are more effective. For instance, there is a home remedy which has been shown to work within 12 hours, using a purely natural approach.
